How to get rid of Microsoft Narrator
Posted on December 18th, 2008If you ever use Microsoft Narrator you will find out that it is almost impossible to disable once active, the common way to close a program does not work and when you restart your computer it will be there waiting for you.
Follow these instructions:
1. Access Control Panel
2. Click on the “Ease of Access Center” icon

3. On the lower section called “Explore all settings” click on “Use the computer without a display”

4. Uncheck the box next to “Turn on Narrator”
Please note that if you have multiple users with the same issue you have to disable Microsoft Narrator on each account.
Disable Microsoft Narrator for all users
If you wish to disable it for everyone, login to your administrator account, access the “Ease of Access Center” section in Control Panel, on the left there is an option called “Change administrative settings”, check the box next to “Apply all settings to the logon desktop”, press the “Save” button and restart your computer.
