How do I choose my default browser?

Posted on February 1st, 2010

QUESTION: How do I make Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari open links when using other applications such as Yahoo! Messenger?

By default Windows will use Internet Explorer, to change this you need to make a change in your default programs.

Before you begin you need to have the browser already installed

  1. Click the Start menu
  2. Select “Default Programs”
  3. Click “Set program access and computer defaults”
  4. On the right side you will see a double arrow pointing down, click on it.
  5. On “Choose a default web browser” select the browser you want as a default.
  6. Click OK
  7. DONE!

Now when you open the links from other programs it will immediately open your selected browser, to change this follow the instructions again.
