Google as a homepage

Google as a homepage
I started using Google back in 1999, it was a big change from the regular Yahoo! page which offered (and still does) hundreds of links to news, sports, entertainment and other cool stuff. Since the release of alternative internet broswers such as Firefox and Opera, Microsoft has been trying to catch up with the added security features their competitors offer.

With the increase of identity theft and online scams, security is becoming a priority when surfing on the internet, Internet Explorer 7 provides a higher degree of security and many more useful features that make it once again a favorite among broswers.

Some of the new features:

  • RSS feeds
  • Customizable toolbars
  • Windows Live search engine
  • Ability to use a search engine of your choice (e.g. GoDaddy, Google, etc.)
  • Tab browsing
  • Security features (Pop-up blocker, phishing filter, etc.)
  • Text zoom using CTRL – or +
  • Improved printing manager

The user interface has been improved making it smaller allowing you too see more of every page; and if you have trouble reading small fonts on the screen, IE7 includes a Cleartype optimizer and a zoom feature that allows you to see larger fonts on the screen.
