QUESTION: How do I make Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari open links when using other applications such as Yahoo! Messenger?
By default Windows will use Internet Explorer, to change this you need to make a change in your default programs.
Before you begin you need to have the browser already installed
- Click the Start menu
- Select “Default Programs”
- Click “Set program access and computer defaults”
- On the right side you will see a double arrow pointing down, click on it.
- On “Choose a default web browser” select the browser you want as a default.
- Click OK
- DONE!
Now when you open the links from other programs it will immediately open your selected browser, to change this follow the instructions again.

If you want to learn how to write files on a CD you need to know the basics of it and also check if you have a CD Burner in your computer. The process of writing data on a CD is called burning.
Before you start
To write on a CD you need to have a CD burner, if you are asking yourself “How do I know if I have one”, easy, just check the front of your computer and it should have a CD drive with this logo in it.
Then you need to purchase (CD-R) recordable or (CD-RW) re-writable disks, they sell them individually or on bulks of 25, 50 or 100 at retail stores like Walmart, Circuit City, CompUSA or Best Buy.
Different than floppy disks
The regular way to write data into a disk is simply by dragging the files to its destination. On a CD it works a little bit different, you have to prepare the files that you wish to copy to the disk and then burn them.
Instructions
1. Insert a blank CD in your drive.
2. You will get a message like this (select ***)
3. Drag and drop all the files you are going to burn into that directory
4. When you are done, click Write these files to CD
5. Type the title for your CD and click next.
6.- Wait until the process is completed and click Finish.
Done!

Today is the day when you can go to the store and buy your own copy of Windows Vista, the new operating system from Microsoft, against my wish I will probably get my copy too just to help you out in case you have questions but honestly, I don’t want to upgrade, at least not yet. When Windows XP came out, there were many security concerns because flaws were discovered that allowed hackers to attack your system.
It is the same story all over again, they release an operating system, people rush and install it, to find out that they are being used to find the bugs, errors and security flaws, then the first patch will be released and that’s when you upgrade…not a minute before that.
A few things to consider
Windows Vista is the new version in the family of operating systems, it was released last year to corporate users and today it gets released to the general public. The main question probably is: “Is Windows Vista for you?“. First you have to consider the following:
- New operating systems always have errors.
- Windows Vista is an expensive operating system. ($299 – $499)
- Not all computers will be able to handle the graphics for Vista.
