How do I force my computer to shut down?

Press the power button for 10 seconds. This will force the system to cut the power and you can restart your system, it may only be used in extreme cases when the computer freezes and there is nothing else you can do.

Yes and no. There are legitimate websites where you can download music like Amazon.com, with no risk of downloading a virus. Other not-so-legit sites may charge you per song and even infect your computer with a virus or trojan.

Download the latest version of Firefox here. Then install the Adblock Plus add-on here. This will filter most of the advertising the internet throws at you.

I love to get free screensavers and toolbars, are they safe to download?

Unfortunately many sites offer free screensavers and toolbars that include adware. Some types of adware are also spyware and can be classified as privacy-invasive software.

Most of the promotional programs that come with your computer load automatically into memory every time you turn on your system, some people even call it junkware because their main purpose is to advertise and offer little or no productive use.
